2020 Presidential Primary Election
Vote safe, Vote by mail
- All registered and eligible voters will automatically receive a ballot in the mail.
The Maryland State Board of Elections will mail the ballot to the address we have on file.
You should receive your ballot by mid-May.
You must be registered with the Democratic or Republican parties to vote for President and most other contests. If you are not
registered with either party, you may only be eligible to vote for school board candidates if your jurisdiction has a school
board election this year. You can check your registration status and party registration here. The deadline to update your party
affiliation, address or to register to vote is Wednesday May 27, 2020.
If you would like your ballot delivered to you electronically or want your ballot mailed to a different address, please
submit a request. You can submit a request online or via paper form. If you use a paper form, read the instructions, enter
the required information, print the form, sign it, and return it to your local board of elections. You can return it by
mail, fax, or email (scanned as attachment).
You can mail your voted ballot as soon as you vote it, but all voted ballots must be postmarked by election day, June 2, 2020. The envelope
for the voted ballot will have prepaid postage so it can be mailed. You may also drop off your voted ballot at designated drop off locations
from May 21, 2020 through June 2, 2020. The three locations are listed below. The drop off boxes will be available 24 hours starting May 21st
until 8:00 p.m. on Election Day June 2nd.

In-Person Voting – Tuesday June 2, 2020 7am until 8pm
Limited in-person voting will be available at the Westminster Senior Center and South Carroll Swim Club on June 2 from 7am-8pm for those that
need to vote in person. There are only two vote centers available and there will be a limited amount of election judges so that we can continue to
abide by social distancing requirements. Voters should consider the exposure of COVID-19 to the individuals that must vote in-person so that we can
avoid long wait times and lines. Voters should visit a vote center only if they need to.
