Change in Administration Affecting Voting Rights

    At its Wednesday, October 18, 2023, 10:00 am meeting, the Carroll County Board of Elections approved:

  • Changing the location of the polling place for 03-001 from Pleasant Valley Fire Department, 2030 S Pleasant Valley Road, Westminster to Charles Carroll Community Center, 3719 Littlestown Pike, Westminster
  • Changing the location of the polling place for 07-001 from Pleasant Valley Fire Department, 2030 S Pleasant Valley Road, Westminster to Francis Scott Key High School, 3825 Bark Hill Road, Union Bridge
  • Changing the location of the polling place for 07-005 from Friendship Valley Elementary School, 1100 Gist Road, Westminster to Carroll Career & Tech Center, 1229 Washington Road, Westminster

2024 Presidential Election Dates

Important 2024 Presidential Primary Election Information:
  • Candidate Filings begin on Thursday, January 19, 2023. Two seats for the Board of Education will be open. Appointments to file for the Board of Education can be made here. All other offices appearing on the 2024 ballot will file for office at the Maryland State Board of Elections. The deadline is Friday, February 9, 2024.
Primary Election: Tuesday, May 14, 2024, 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Early Voting for the Primary Election: Thursday, May 2, 2024 through Thursday, May 9, 2024. Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

General Election: Tuesday, November 5, 2024, 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Early Voting for the General Election: Thursday, October 24, 2024 through Thursday, October 31, 2024. Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Notification of Polling Place Changes

    The Carroll County Board of Elections is committed to ensuring that all eligible voters in our community have fair and equal access to the polls. As part of this effort, we maintain a contact list of individuals and organizations who wish to be notified about local board meetings at which proposed changes to the locations of polling places will be discussed.

    If you want to be notified when the board will discuss polling place changes, fill out this form. You will be contacted at least one week prior to the meeting date.

  • Members of the public may address the Board, pursuant to the procedures outlined in §3.2B of the Board’s bylaws, which require public participation at a meeting to be pre-scheduled and pre-approved by the President. To request approval to speak at a board meeting, contact Erin Perrone at 410-386-2081 or by email erine.perrone@maryland.gov no later than 5 pm the day before the meeting. All public comment is subject to the discretion of the Board and is limited to three (3) minutes.
