2024 Presidential Election Dates

Important 2024 Presidential Primary Election Information:
  • We would like to notify you that Carroll County will not have a contest for the Board of Education in the upcoming May primary election. There will not be a nonpartisan ballot in the primary election. The Board of Education contest will appear on the ballot in the November general election.
  • In Maryland, you must be registered with the Republican Party to vote the Republican ballot, or you must be registered with the Democratic Party to vote the Democratic ballot in the primary election. If you want to vote during the primary election, follow these steps:

    1. Check your party affiliation online at https://bit.ly/OnlineVoterSearch
    2. Change your party affiliation (only if you want to vote in the primary election) online at https://bit.ly/OnlineVoterUpdate
    3. Go vote!
  • The deadline to change your party affiliation is Tuesday, April 23rd!

  • Early Voting for the Primary Election: Thursday, May 2, 2024 through Thursday, May 9, 2024. Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

General Election: Tuesday, November 5, 2024, 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Early Voting for the General Election: Thursday, October 24, 2024 through Thursday, October 31, 2024. Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Notification of Polling Place Changes

    The Carroll County Board of Elections is committed to ensuring that all eligible voters in our community have fair and equal access to the polls. As part of this effort, we maintain a contact list of individuals and organizations who wish to be notified about local board meetings at which proposed changes to the locations of polling places will be discussed.

    If you want to be notified when the board will discuss polling place changes, fill out this form. You will be contacted at least one week prior to the meeting date.

To request approval to speak at a board meeting, contact Erin Perrone at 410-386-2081 or by email erine.perrone@maryland.gov no later than 5 pm the day before the meeting. All public comment is subject to the discretion of the Board and is limited to three (3) minutes.
  • Closed Meeting: A portion of the meeting may be closed in accordance with the Open Meetings Act, Title 10, Subtitle 5, section §3-305(b).
